“I honestly couldn’t tell you,” I shrug. “Seriously, my periods are so irregular.”

“When did you and Beckett ... you know,” Ramona questions.

I narrow my eyes. “Is this leading to something?”

“I just think you should consider that the morning after pill might not work, you did take it days after ...”

I laugh, shaking my head. “I’m not pregnant, Ramona.”

“Are you certain, honey?” Eve asks.

“Yes,” I scoff, shaking my head at the two of them.

“When did you two do the deed?” Ramona asks again. “It was a few weeks ago, right?”

“Yes, why?”

“Well, if you’re pregnant, a test would likely pick it up,” Eve suggests, carefully.

“In case you haven’t noticed, I’m locked in a room being held as a captive. I highly doubt that is the biggest thing for us to be worrying about right now,” I snap, crossing my arms.

“It could save you,” Ramona points out, her voice careful. “If you’re pregnant, they’re not just going to throw you out on the street.”

“You want me to use something to make them pity me?” I laugh bitterly. “I’m better than that.”

“Will you let us just get you a test, please?” Eve asks. “For our sake, yours mostly?”

“No,” I snap. “No, I don’t want a god damned test because I’m not pregnant. If you don’t mind, I’d like to get some rest.”

I stand and turn my back to them, dismissing them. I don’t need this right now, for all I know we could have this all wrong and Becky could be dead, and this will all be for nothing. If that happens, I’m toast.

I don’t want to deal with this right now.

I won’t.

The two girls leave quietly, and I crawl into the bed, tucking my hands beneath my face and exhaling loudly.

This isn’t how I planned on this going, but at least I got the chance to talk. At least I was able to tell them enough so that they can help Becky.

My mind goes to Beckett and the way he looked at me with hatred. He doesn’t believe it, at least, he doesn’t want to. He wants to think I’m the enemy, that I’m the monster here and his little angel wouldn’t have done that to him, but he’d be wrong. She did use him and he’s going to have to find that out the hard way. Still, knowing he hates me so much makes me want to scream and cry.

It hurts because I care about him, more than I should.

I care about him in ways I’ve not cared about another person before.

And he hates me.

Hates. Me.

There is no coming back from that.

The door flies open and Beckett storms in, waking me from my sleep. I jerk upright, eyes blurry as I watch him charge into the room with a bag in his hand. He looks to me, and then orders me up. I stare at him for a few seconds as I slowly come out of the haze. When he’s clear, I see he’s holding a plastic bag in one hand, and a bottle of juice in the other. What the hell is this, a slumber party?

“If I had known you were coming for a party, I would have worn my best pjs,” I mutter, sitting up.

He ignores me, digging into the bag and pulling out a box, the second I see what that box is, my face goes white as a ghost.

He’s got pregnancy tests. Two to be precises.

“Those big mouths,” I growl, shaking my head.

“They had every fuckin’ right to tell me,” he grunts. “Now, you pee on it now or you drink this juice and I wait. Either way I’m not leavin’ until there is an answer.”

“I’m not pregnant,” I say, crossing my arms. “I’ve been treated like shit enough. I’m not going to be forced to pee on a stick for your own peace of mind. What is it, Beckett? Scared that when your lying little girlfriend comes back, she might figure out you’re as big of a liar as she is?”

He storms towards me and grabs my arm, hauling me to my feet. “You’ve done enough lyin’ to last us a fuckin’ lifetime,” he snarls in my face.

“Wrong,” I growl back. “I didn’t lie about a single fucking thing except what Rocco told me, and I did that because believe it or not, I was trying to protect the club. You had all done so much for me, I thought maybe I could clear you all from it by taking it on myself. But of course you wouldn’t believe that, you believe the lies Becky has told you, but you don’t believe me. Perhaps you didn’t stick your dick in me enough?”

He releases my arm with a low, rumbling growl. “Piss on the stick.”

“No,” I say, crossing my arms.

“God dammit, you will pee on this stick or so help me god I’ll tie you up and pour liquid down your throat until you piss yourself.”
