“You what?” I looked at her, startled. “You can hear my thoughts?”

She nodded. “It started a few minutes ago—maybe it has to do with sealing our bond. I can hear you wondering how you can keep me when it’s against the law for me to be your pet.”

I sighed.

“I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, since I took off that damn inhibitor collar so you can use your Mental Abilities again.”

“Here’s the thing,” little one told me. “Why does it have to be a 24/7 thing?”

“What?” I frowned. I could probably have read her mind as she seemed to be able to read mine, but I wanted her to explain. “What do you mean a ‘24/7 thing’?”

“On my world what you and I are doing—you being my Master and me being your ‘pet’ is well known in the Kink Community,” she told me. “Doing it 24/7 means doing it literally all the time. But a lot of people can’t do that. They have jobs to go to and other obligations. It wouldn’t be practical to try and be someone’s ‘pet’ all the time—twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. So they just do it when they’re alone together, you know?”

I frowned.

“So…you only want to be my pet when we’re alone in my home and no one is watching?”

“If that works for you,” she said. She was turned towards me, her big brown eyes earnest and anxious. “Or if you want, maybe I can talk to the Sovereign and ask her to make an exception in our case. I’ll let her know that I appreciate her making me a real ‘person’ by Korrigon standards, but I like being your pet.”

I smiled and reached over to cup her cheek.

“But little one, you earned your status—and by it, the freedom of your entire galaxy! Your Mental Abilities are as great or greater than my own.”

“Only here,” she admitted, looking up at me. “Back on Earth, they’re nothing. I’m nothing.”

“No, you’re not,” I said firmly. “You’re mine.” I frowned. “I’m just trying to think of a more permanent way to attach you to me than a one-year contract.”

“What about a repeating contract?” little one suggested. “Just put a clause in the first contract that says each party will be signing another contract when the first one expires at the end of the year. And just…keep on doing that.”

It was an incredibly simple and elegant solution to our problem. I looked at her with admiration.

“You know, my darling, that just might work. I don’t know why none of my people has thought of it before—maybe because we Korrigons don’t form very strong bonds among ourselves.” Which was true—it had never even occurred to me to try and renew my contact with either of the females I had formally mated with. “One year with any female of my own species is enough for me,” I told her.

“What about one year with a female of my species? With me?” little one demanded, looking up at me from under her long, lovely lashes.

“One year would never be enough,” I told her tenderly. “Though I will consider the term of one lifetime.”

At that point, we drove through the large metal gates of my estate. My hover cruiser flowed smoothly down the winding drive until we found ourselves stopped in front of my family home. It is a well-appointed house set on a rolling lawn of short blue grass and surrounded by tall, willowy grenga trees with yellow and green leaves.

“Wow…” Little one’s eyes grew huge in her face. “This is your house? It looks like one of those enormous mansions British royalty lives in!”

I didn’t know the royalty she was talking about, but I was pleased with her reaction.

“So you’ll be happy to live here with me?” I asked, reaching over to unbuckle her harness.

“Yes—if you really want me to.” Little one ducked her head as she slid over to press her curvy little body close to my side.

“Why wouldn’t I?” I demanded. “You’re beautiful and sweet and curvy. Also, you’re incredibly intelligent and surprisingly good at getting your own way.”

I gave her a significant look and her cheeks flushed a dark pink.

“Oh, um…” For once, she seemed at a loss for words.

“That’s right,” I told her sternly. “I know that you asked my candalla to fill you with breeding cream so that I would have to breed you. Do you really think he can do anything without my knowing it?”

“Oh, Sir!” she exclaimed, going white. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean— I mean, please don’t send me away!”

“Never.” I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her even closer. “It’s all right,” I murmured, looking into her eyes. “I forgive you, my darling—I’m even grateful to you.”

“You…you are?” Little one looked at me uncertainly.

“Of course,” I told her, giving her a gentle squeeze. “I could never have broken my word not to breed you if you hadn’t forced my hand. And this way I cannot send you home, even if I wanted to—which of course I don’t.”
