“What the fuck was that, man?”

Ignoring Lorne, I stare out the broken window at her. I want to beat the grass she’s sitting on because it’s touching her ass. Then I see it; his hand on her leg. Fucker thinks he can do that without losing a limb. “He. Is. Touching. Her.”

I take the stairs two at a time, almost flying until I get to the door. Pushing it open, I stomp to where she’s sitting in the yard. “Get the fuck away from her, and I’ll make it hurt less when I kill you.”

“Who the fuck are you?” the punk demands.

His stupid face has a shit-eating grin. Before I can say anything, Snow places her hand on his and turns to look at me. I make a mental note to break the hand she’s touching first.

She beams at me, and I swear it’s like being bathed in the warmth of the damn sun. “Hello.”

“Hi. Tell him to get lost.”

“Why would I do that? I’m having a conversation with Peter, who’s a perfectly nice guy. You, on the other hand, should go to the hospital to tend to your wounds. You have a gash on your face, and blood is staining that glorious Good Vibrations shirt.”

I love her. She knows who the Beach Boys are. I’m torn between bending her over and fucking her until she calls me Daddy or killing the piece of shit who’s still touching my girl.

I’ll make Peter cry like a little bitch before I put him out of his misery. I don’t like that she’s being nice to him. She shouldn’t be nice to anyone other than Lorne and me. She looks so pretty as she tries to hide her anger, but I can see her teeth grinding as she holds a fake smile. It’s not her usual smile. This one is tight. Her dark eyes widen as I loom over her.

“Get up. We’re leaving.”

Her expression quickly moves from anger to shock. I’m not sure if Sunshine can be angry, but her pretty eyes narrow at me, and her full lips form a straight line. Something weird tugs inside me, something foreign and confusing. I don’t like how she makes me feel. It’s probably because I haven’t fucked her. If I fuck her, she’ll be out of my system, and life can return to normal.

But she likes the Beach Boys.

“You don’t want me to force you to get up, Sunshine. I’m not known for being gentle.”

“Cas, I’ve never spoken to you a day in my entire life. Usually, when someone wants to talk to me, they say hello like Peter over here and engage in an actual conversation. This caveman nutjob thing you have going on won’t work.”

Her breath hitches as my hands wrap around her biceps and hoist her into my arms.

The little preppy weasel jumps to his feet and steps toward me. I bark a laugh. “It’s cute that you’re pretending to be a man when you’re so scared you want to piss your pants.”

“Get your hands off her,” he demands, his body shaking.

“Who’s going to make me? You?”

Pain shoots up my arm. I look down to see her teeth digging into my flesh like a piece of steak.

I ignore her love bite and stare the preppy fucker down. His eyes move from her mouth on my arm to my face, and his hands leave streaks along his Khaki pants. Buddy is sweating, but he’s still willing to try to protect her. I like that about him. He’s not a total douche. Maybe his death will be quick.

“Let her go.”

“Aw, look at him, Sunshine. He doesn’t realize he’s a Teacup Poodle going up against a Pitbull.”

Chapter 3

Noelle

The metallic taste of blood fills my mouth, but I don’t let go. Cas has his arm wrapped around me. He’s huge. Maybe he takes steroids. I’m a size eighteen, but I’m a particle of dust compared to him. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this small beside a man. I’m worried about Peter, who’s trying to stand up to Cas. I’m sure he could beat Peter to a pulp while holding me with one arm.

What is that digging into my back? Something hard is poking me, and I move my arm behind me to check it out. Oh. Cas is aroused. How is he getting hard from me biting the shit out of him? He’s crazy. Certifiable.

“Let her go, Cas,” a deep voice I recognize comes from behind us. Lorne Miller. It makes sense he’d be close by. These two are always together. Cas, and there’s another guy, Declan.

They don’t go to school here, so I have no idea why they think they can get all up in my business. They appeared a few months back. At first, I assumed my father had decided to have them be my shadows after Lorne kept showing up at our house. But my father assured me that wasn’t the case and said Lorne probably had his own business to adhere to on campus.
