I ignore the guy to my right and make sure my suspenders are tight. I made this firefighter costume a couple of years ago and the crowd goes crazy for it.

The station chief would have my ass if I turned up in an online video twerking with the Courage County Fire and Rescue logo on my jacket. Besides, most of this isn’t standard issue. It’s all put together to fulfill a fantasy for the women who show up here.

A moment later, Officer Hottie is joining us backstage again. He struts when he walks and judging from the sounds of the crowd, he definitely has this one in the bag. It doesn’t matter to me. I’m only here for a woman.

The slow beat of the song I chose fills the air and I let out a deep breath. I loved boxing as a kid and dad encouraged me to take dance lessons as well, telling me my movements would be more fluid. Not only was he right but I found I loved it. I rarely have a reason to dance in my day-to-day life as a firefighter and single dad, so I steal moments like this. They’re few and far between, something no one knows about except for my friend Ryker.

The curtains part and I have to blink in the brightness of the sudden stage lights. But it doesn’t stop me from starting my routine. I’ve practiced it too many times and my body moves automatically, falling into the familiar rhythm easily.

As I dance my way down the stage, the screams of the audience are intoxicating. This is what I love. The chance to perform, to be seen and admired. To be wanted for a few moments.

My eyes finally adjust, and I spot a dark-haired beauty in the front row. She’s squirming in her seat, leaving me to wonder if she’s aching between her thighs. She pulls me toward her with a magnetic energy that I can’t resist. I have to see what color her eyes are, have to see if I’m the source of her desire.

She’s wearing a sash that announces her as the birthday girl and all I can think about is the birthday present I’d like to give her, the one in my pants that’s already pressing painfully against my fly.

When I’m close enough to the curvy woman, I bounce my ass to a chorus of hoots and hollers from the patrons. I squat in front of her and note the way her breathing goes shallow. Her eyes are cornflower blue, the color of the sky on a cloudless summer day.

I reach for my helmet and pull it off. I’ve never given away part of my costume or interacted with a woman in the audience this way. Normally, I just ignore them all and do my routine. But I can’t tonight.

The moment I set the helmet on her head, it feels right. She’s mine. I just claimed her so every other fucker in this bar knows that she’s mine. Because I can’t resist, I let my fingertips ghost along her face. The pulse in the side of her neck flutters and I know I haven’t read this wrong. She’s mine and what’s more? She wants to be.

Her friend points to her and shouts, “She’s the birthday girl!”

I ignore her because I’ve already figured that one out and nothing could distract me from this moment. I hold out my hand and give her a smile. “Ma’am, for your safety, I have to ask you to come with me.”

The crowd erupts when I pull her onto the stage with me. I take in the sparkly red tank top and short leather skirt she’s wearing. Her matching red heels make it look like she’s got legs for miles and I want to fuck her while she’s naked in only those shoes. I can practically feel them digging into my ass as I pound my thick cock into her tight little body.

It’s breaking club rules to bring her up here with me and management is sure to chew my ass out later. But for now, I don’t care. I have a goddess beside me.

Her curves are so damn sweet that I want to forget about our audience and bend her over right now. A three-minute dance isn’t going to be nearly long enough for me to do all the nasty things I want to.

I put my lips next to her ear and her wavy strands tickle my face. My words are low, a lover’s caress meant only for her. “You ready for this, sweetheart?”

She giggles, the sweetest sound I’ve heard in ages. “I’m ready.”

Stepping back, I snap my fingers and a chair appears but the entire time I never break routine. It’s one of the things I love about performing onstage and being a firefighter. You can rehearse all you want but when something unexpected happens, you have to think on your feet.
