Desire threatens to pull me under, and there’s a darkness at the edge of my thoughts that urges me to whip out my shaft and drive into her until she and I are nothing but mindless animals seeking that all-consuming ecstasy.

I rub against the top of her channel, seeking that small patch of skin that will detonate her passion. She lets out a cry and then a moan when I find her. Her hips rise, and her lips fall open. I press down on her pelvis with my other hand, catching her tender clit between my thumb and forefinger. I pinch her, and when she screams, I place my mouth over her cunt and tongue her deep. She nearly levitates off the mattress at the contact.

I keep her pinned down and work her with my hand, fingers, tongue, and mouth until she’s sobbing and thrashing, wanting more and more and more. I give it to her. I give her everything and drink her juice down until she has spent it all. This is just the start, I promise silently. Just the beginning.

As the sun sets outside and bathes the kitchen with a golden light, I whip up some waffles while Reese naps. The orgasm laid her out. From the doorway, Henry watches me move about Reese’s kitchen, setting out the plates, pouring milk, and rummaging for syrup. He licks his paws and meows pleasantly when I set a small saucer of milk in front of him.

“You and me are going to be friends, Henry. Mates. You’re going to miss me when I’m not here and anxiously await my return. When I come home, you’re going to jump onto my lap and demand attention.”

The cat ignores me and continues to lap at his treat.

“Are you talking to Henry?” an amused voice says from the doorway.

I look up from the bananas I’m slicing on the cutting board and see Reese leaning on the doorjamb, wearing my T-shirt, and looking damned edible.

“I am. You were sleeping the day away, so I had to make do with the company I had. He’s a good listener. I can see why you like him.”

Henry, the traitor, abandons the now empty saucer and winds his furry body between Reese’s legs until she bends down and picks up the beast. She buries her face in his coat and gives him a half dozen loud smacks before setting him back on the floor.

“My turn,” I say, tapping my cheek with the hilt of the knife. She comes over immediately and gives me a warm peck.

“There.”

“I guess that will do for now, but I’m going to want something more after dinner.” I reach around her and slide the bacon off the burner. “Are you okay with breakfast for dinner? It’s about the only thing I can make. Tomorrow we can go out to the ranch and have a proper meal of biscuits and steak.”

“Waffles, bacon, and fruit is a perfect dinner combo.” She washes her hands and helps carry the platters of food to the table.

“After dinner, want to get out the look book for me?” I ask between bites.

She wrinkles her nose. “I don’t know. Now I’m nervous.”

“Don’t be. I love the work you’ve already done, and a look book is just a collection of ideas that can be refined later.”

She gives a tentative nod, which turns into a more confident one.

“Do you live out at the ranch?” she asks. “Cane said he lived there before Astor’s house was renovated.”

“I do, but it’s getting crowded. That’s why Cane moved out, and when the January George property went on the market, it seemed like a good time for me to establish my own place. I don’t mind being in town. I love the ranch and the horses, but my interests lie in real estate property holdings and other investments to expand the Justice empire. As stewards of the land, we have to be aware of how climate change and the movement toward more sustainable living is going to impact our future. We want the Justice property to stay in Justice hands for generations, which means shoring up outside income as much as possible. Besides, the January George place is a beaut.”

“It is gorgeous. I mean, what little I saw of it seemed gorgeous. Your cousin’s wives must think I’m so foolish.” Her chin drops to her chest as if she’s trying to hide from the memory. I brush her hair aside and lift her chin up with my finger.

“Don’t you take any of that to heart. My cousin’s wives already love you because you’ve corralled me, something they’ve been trying to do for months now. And while we didn’t know that Novak was a damned fool, we do now.” I tweak her chin before applying myself to dinner. “Eat your waffles before they get cold.”
