Priest wrapped his arms around her, and there, in front of their families, he kissed her. The kiss wasn’t polite, but it was full of passion, of love. It told her there would be no more revenge. This was the start of a new beginning for both of them.

Breaking from the kiss, Priest stroked her cheek. “I thought you’d run.”

“Never. I would only ever run toward you, never away from you.”

“Are you ready for this?” Priest asked.

She nodded. “Are you?”

Priest had made it clear he didn’t want to have his picture taken. Cleo hadn’t wanted to force the issue, but someone must have talked to him. He’d asked her constantly how important it was for her to document their wedding. It hadn’t been too important, but some mementos would be nice down the road.

Apart from the file her father had given her, none of her life was ever recorded. Priest insisted on them having the proper wedding, complete with the photo-album experience and twenty-layer cake.

He took hold of her hand, and together, they walked out of the church, where Maurice, their photographer, waited. It would seem Maurice had many different skills. He was an invaluable asset at the Killer of Kings. While Maurice set up and started to order people around, Priest wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close.

“Hello, wife,” he said.

She giggled. “Hello, husband.”

“No regrets?”

“None.” She ran her hands up his muscular arms straining against the material of his suit. “What about you? Wishing you could escape? Get rid of me and Fred?”

Priest slammed his lips down on hers, his tongue tracing across her lip. Cleo noticed he did this all the time to shut her up, and she wasn’t going to complain. She loved his kisses. Relished every one of them.

He broke the kiss, trailing his lips down her neck. “With your dad watching, I’m being a very good boy, but, Cleo, I don’t want to be good.” He ran his hands down her back, cupping her ass. “I want to be very bad. I can’t wait for our honeymoon. The first thing I’m going to do is eat that pretty pussy of yours.”

It was a good thing no one could hear him.

And they really needed to hurry up and get these pictures over with.

Every day with Priest, she found new reasons to love him, to fall for him, to want nothing else but to be with him. All the time.

“And, Cleo, I never have any reason to leave. You give me a reason to live, to fight, and to constantly get back to you. There is no way I’ll ever run or have any regrets.”

Who would have thought that he was once a man of few words. Now, he was the most romantic man she had ever known.

The End
