“You definitely have potential. I noticed you when I was last here. Keep up the good work and you might find yourself doing important things in the future,” Hammer said and put down his beer.

Dex’s heart sped up. Hammer had noticed him? “I really think so. I’m not afraid of anything. Just like the guys in your MC, I need to be free and get to spread my wings.”

Hammer shrugged. “You’re known to us, and your uncle works with the club. You could prospect.”

Dex’s dick-muddled brain came to a halt, and he stared at Hammer with a whole new type of attention. “I could?” Maybe he could. If he hung out with the bikers more, expanded his repertoire of jobs… “I could. I’m a good shot actually.”

“Really? You gotta show me some time,” Hammer said and glanced at the steel ceiling, as if contemplating something. “It’s just… I guess even the most liberated of people aren’t allowed to do some stuff.”

Dex snorted. “I bet you get to do whatever you want… When you’re not in a cage,” he added.

Hammer shrugged. “I’m not complaining. Though… the Demon Brethren MC is still a biker club. Sure, times have changed, but it’s one thing to work with someone who fucks guys and another to have him as your brother, you know.”

Dex was once more thrown a curveball and zeroed in on Hammer. Was he saying what Dex thought he was saying? Sparks seemed to jump off the bars between them when Dex met pale gray eyes, and his mouth dried.

“You think it would be unacceptable?” His prospecting dreams were being crushed before they even grew wings.

“I don’t know. We never had a gay member. You’d be the first guy who doesn’t like pussy,” Hammer said with a little smile. “But I could sponsor you. I don’t mind.”

Dex smirked, feeling flattered by this expression of support. “An equal opportunities kind of guy. I like it,” he said and passed Hammer another beer.

Hammer shook his head. “Nah, if I drink any more, I might say things I don’t want to.”

Dex swallowed, but put the beer down within Hammer’s reach. Hammer had hooded eyes, which made him look so dark and dreamy. The way a strand of his brown hair just about tickled his eyebrow, the way he ran the tip of his tongue over his top lip, and how his scent seemed to invite Dex closer, all combined into a concoction more intoxicating than the beer ever could be.

“Like what? We gotta pass the time somehow.”

He would love to pass the time under Hammer. Or over him. Whatever worked, and whatever got him closer to that dick.

Hammer cleared his throat and squeezed his empty can. “It’s… complicated.”

“How so?”

The sun setting outside filled the container with an orange glow that made this conversation feel intimate somehow.

Hammer’s big hands opened and closed as he hung his head, letting all that dark hair obscure the handsome face. Each time his chest rose made Dex’s heart beat that bit faster, but when Hammer looked up and pinned him with his gray eyes, it was as if lava had flooded the room.

“Can you keep a secret?”

Dex shifted closer to the bars, pulled in by Hammer’s magnetic presence. If this guy was on Grindr, everyone would swipe right on him. “I can keep my mouth shut about important things.”

Hammer rubbed his cheek, as if still hesitant, but eventually spoke. “There’s been a time when I wondered if my admiration for some men is just that. I never tried to go there.”

Dex was on fire. The soles of his feet were scorching, sweat covered his palms, and hot desire pulsed in his dry mouth. He needed another big gulp of beer. “I mean… it’s something guys can discover later in life.” Was this seriously happening, or was he in a wet dream? He couldn’t pinch himself without it being weird.

Hammer snorted. “The question is, will I even get to later in life if Lion really believes I’m after him.”

Dex ran his fingers through his hair, trying to act casual even though his heart pounded like mad. “What do you want to try?” His voice was a whisper now, as if they were teens sharing secrets at a sleepover. “It’s just us here, and Jag won’t be back for hours.” Was he coming on too strong? He didn’t want to freak out the straight guy, but this seemed like an opportunity that couldn’t be missed.

Hammer gave a slow, laborious exhale and assessed him. A part of Dex was offended by the idea of not being good enough, but then Hammer spoke.

“What about Frank though?”

That was his worry?

Dex shrugged. “I can handle Frank. No one needs to know anyway.” He had a feeling Hammer would be a good fuck. He couldn’t explain it, but he had a nose for those things.
