She sighed and decided she didn’t care so much about her posture. So what if he saw her rolls. He didn’t seem to mind. He’d seen her in workout clothes already. “Are you going to spank me?” she asked.

He hesitated, his hands coming to her thighs. “Do you deserve to be spanked?”

She shrugged and looked at her nails as if they were interesting. “Probably,” she murmured. “But can we please talk about it later?” She didn’t want to discuss this in his office.

“Yes. We can table this for later, if you promise you’re going to tell me what upset you after we get to my house.”

“Okay.” She scooted her chair back and stood, needing some distance. If she was going to spend the next hour working out, she needed to regroup. Her mind was scrambled with thoughts of Davis’s hands not on her thighs but on her bottom, and her nipples were stiff under her sports bra from the visual. He could probably see the hard points.

She crossed her arms to cover her embarrassment. “I should go work out,” she stated. She shook any remnant of fury with Elizabeth from her mind. Who cared what that woman said? She wasn’t going home with Davis in an hour, and she sure wasn’t going to get her bottom spanked from his strong hand either.

Sue mentally stuck her tongue out at the mean girl, feeling smug and pleased with herself.

Davis slowly rose in front of her. “To answer your other question, I set it up so I could do personal sessions with you because I like spending time with you, and I know if I try to do other things around the gym while you’re working out, I’ll be so distracted watching you that my time will be wasted anyway.”

“But I didn’t pay for private sessions,” she reminded him again.

He smiled. “Cherry, I’m the owner. If I mark down in the books that you have private sessions with me, then you just do. My employees aren’t going to question me,” he pointed out.

“Oh, right.” She chewed on her lower lip for a moment. “Surely you have more important things to do than walk me through my workout.” Please say you don’t.

He shook his head. “Nothing I have to do is more important than you, Cherry.”

She smiled. “Okay.”

When he opened the door and set a hand on the small of her back to lead her toward the weights, she kept her head high. Hopefully, Elizabeth had already left, but if she hadn’t, she could just stuff it. Let her eyeballs bug out. Davis is mine.

Sue flinched at the thought. Was he though? When she glanced at him smiling down at her, she felt all warm and gooey. He seemed to think she was his. Maybe her luck had changed and she was about to get her happily ever after.

Chapter Six

“Don’t think for a minute that I’ve forgotten you owe me an explanation,” Davis pointed out as soon as he pulled into the driveway of his home.

Sue had been quiet on the way to his house, probably because she was thinking about their exchange in his office. He intended to address her fibbing to him first thing. If he wasn’t mistaken, she had been practically eager to get spanked. He wasn’t sure why.

“I know,” she murmured as he entered the garage.

When he turned off the car and rounded to her side, she let him take her hand to help her out. She was trembling, and that bothered him. He didn’t want her to be nervous with him, but it was understandable. They’d had a pretty intense conversation earlier that he wouldn’t have chosen to have so early in a new relationship.

His first priority would be to nip this in the bud so they could get back to getting to know each other over dinner.

One thing was for sure. Sue was the most perfect Little girl he’d ever met. He should be the one trembling instead of her. Every minute he spent with her solidified his belief that she was his.

He’d had the most enjoyable time helping her go through her workout both yesterday and today. He loved how her face scrunched up when she was concentrating and how eager she was to learn how to use all the equipment. He was a bit worried that she felt she needed to impress him, and he would address that soon too.

“Your home is lovely, Davis,” she stated, eyes wide, as they stepped into the kitchen from the garage.

“Thank you, Cherry.”

She trailed her fingers along his granite counter. “If I had this kitchen, I’d cook all day and never stop. I’d weight two thousand pounds in a week.”

He knew she was teasing, but he didn’t like how hung up she seemed to be about her weight. He needed to put an end to whatever body image issues she had first.
