I notice Frankie’s mom and stepdad sitting beside Hayden’s mom in one of the rows. And Gary’s parents are chatting with Travis’s brothers in another. Doc, Donovan, and a few other friends are peppered throughout the rows of seats.

As we reach the arbor, we spread out into the formation we practiced yesterday with the wedding coordinator, Cody and Hayden closest to the arbor, Derek and Jackson next, and Frankie and me at the farther ends. I keep noticing that none of the couples can keep from looking at their other halves.

I look at Frankie once again, appreciating being here with him, and, at the same time, hating the distance between us because we haven’t had much of that aside from work…since we’ve been enjoying the time we have together as much as we can.

He offers a warm smile. There’s something in his expression that seems mischievous, though, like we share a little secret, and I figure it’s this lock and collar I’m wearing under my outfit and his own key.

That regardless of what anyone else thinks about us, we know we belong to each other.

The music changes, and I turn my attention back to the house, which Travis and Gary walk out of together, along the same path we all traveled down the aisle.

They’re whispering to each other as they approach, all smiles, looking around to see all the people who they’ve known over the years who are here to attend their special day…the people who have grown to know these amazing guys, many of whom were there from the very beginning.

As they reach the arbor, in front of Miss Laurie Firebomb, they turn to one another.

Gary’s turned away from me, but I can see in Travis’s expression sheer appreciation, for this moment, for his man, and I catch each of the groomsmen glancing across at their own partners, Cody and Hayden, Derek and Jackson.

We’ve each shared our own journeys. I think about how far we’ve all come in our own ways, coming together so differently, but sharing a similar love and respect for our other halves.

Who would have ever thought that I would have gone from feeling so totally alone to being a part of something so incredible…and getting to share it with so many wonderful people?

As Gary begins speaking his vows, I’m left wondering what’s in store for Frankie and me, especially considering the crazy way we started.

But judging by the whimsical smirk on his face, I know whatever it is—it’s going to be pretty fucking incredible.

THE END
